Sandy Women's Institute with Debbie Land

Venue: Sandy Conservative Club, 18 Bedford Road, Sandy SG19 1EL

Time: Tuesday 20 October 10.00 am

Debbie Land returns, this time to talk about Stalin’s Female Pilots, known as the ‘Night Witches’. Debbie will give us some background about these women’s involvement in World War I, the inter-war years and Operation Barbarossa – Nazi German’s attempt to take control of the Soviet Union – which was foiled by strong Soviet resistance and the harsh Russian winter.
